"I have a simple mission: To create an open-source, non-linear video editor for Linux. Many have tried and fallen before me, but for some reason I feel compelled to try myself. I am documenting my journey in this blog for all to read. It will be a dangerous journey, and I might not make it back alive. Hold on tight, and enjoy the ride! By the way, I'm calling this project OpenShot Video Editor!"

We have enhanced our Export Video screen to include the following features:

  • Progress bar to show the progress of the export
  • Message box confirmation when the export is done
  • The export screen no longer auto-closes. It stays open, so you don't loose your settings. It lets the user double check the exported video... tweak any settings, and export again.
  • New export defaults: mp4, mpeg4
Here is the progress-bar in action:

yea I know about that. But I'm waiting for the audio and video to be separated. I was wondering if there will be a major release including this or if it'll be something that comes gradually

I don't have a date, but I'm working very hard to complete a very specific list of features. I will make some announcements when I get close to a release.

Also, I'm going to do a blog post on audio being handled separate than video soon. Thanks for the question.

I want to be able to set the progressiveness or "upper" or "lower" field to my videos. How do I do that with your exporting dialog? I don't see a way to do that.
