Brandon, thanks for the comment. Yes, I am familiar with you and the PiTiVi project. I am on your mailing list and great buddies with Edward Hervey =).

In fact, on one of my blog entries there was a really, really strange comment that mentions you. You should go dig it up... it will make you laugh.

I have considered joining the PiTiVi project, but as of right now I'm content with where I am. I am still not convinced that Gnonlin is the right framework for OpenShot. Hopefully we can stay in contact and help each other out with some of the overlapping issues. Thanks.

the UI is beautiful. Gstreamer is and will be not stable for a long time. I recently discover MLT inigo which is more mature and very more simple.
I wan't to help you but I can't find sources.

Have you heard of PiTiVi? I am one of the developers. I'm also the author of the gstreamer video tutorials which you see on the website. We are competitors it seems. http://www.pitivi.org. Also, see my blog,

No doubt we are going to encounter the same challenges/setbacks in our quest to finally make a linux video editor. But there's one other thing, the lead developer, edward hervey, is also the author of gnonlin. I am not sure how to feel just now, because what we have is a serious duplication of effort.
